Rachel Maister
Rachel was born in St. Petersburg and began studying music and dance at the age of four. She immigrated to Israel with her parents at the age of eleven, and continued her studies at the Talma Yelin High School of the Arts majoring in classical music. Rachel holds a B.Ed. from Levinsky College of Education, specializing in movement and music as well as a master's degree with an M.A. thesis in musicology from Tel Aviv University.
Rachel is very knowledgeable in the history of dance and music: She teaches music and movement, has written "Preparation for Dance Performances" for the National Culture Basket, an educational program to expose Israeli students to culture and art, and records dance lessons for students for the Ministry of Education's national broadcasting system. From 2007 to date, Rachel has been preparing students from all over the country for matriculation exams in music, dance and dance history.
