Maté Moray

Maté was raised and educated in Budapest, and is also a graduate of the Budapest Dance Academy. He was a soloist in the Györ Ballet, and in 1995 was invited to dance as a soloist in the Israeli Ballet for a decade. Concurrent with his dancing career, he also taught at dance schools, including  Thelma Yelin, Blich High School and Bat Dor Tel Aviv Dance School.

He formerly served as the Artistic Director of the Israeli Ballet, of "The Project" at the Israeli Opera in collaboration with the Suzanne Dellal Center and the Bikurey Haitim Dance School.

Today, Maté is one of Israel's leading classical ballet teachers. He is the Dean of the Faculty of Dance at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. In addition to all the foregoing, he serves as a judge in the dance world, examiner and member of various professional committees. If all this were not enough, he is the artistic advisor of the Israeli Opera’s dance series.

His tip for future generations in the dance world is very simple: Persistence is the key to success. Experience teaches us that those who succeed in becoming professional dancers are not the most talented or the most passionate, but rather those who persevere with hard work for many years.
